Kraken has had many technical issues and downtimes in the past. In the last months this has improved and trading was pretty stable. The UI looks outdated but it works. All trading features, including margin trading are available.
My experience with the Kraken support is pretty positive. I had an issue with a bank transfer (wrong reference) and the support was very helpful and solved the issue within 3 days.
Kraken was the first exchange I signed up to, but I never actually got to buy anything because it's very badly designed.
It also has had some big performance issues within peak times, e.g. around the time of the Bitcoin all-time-high last December. The situation has improved now, but this might just be down to decreased trading volume...
Despite their struggles in peak times and the confusing interface, Kraken still is my favorite bitcoin exchange offering the best liquidity in the BTC/EUR market. However, I completely understand that for newcomers there are way better portals.
For Germans the best option. Working with Fidor Bank will transfer Fiat Money in minutes. The surface of Kraken is getting used to and not in German. Nevertheless, the best option for me and my friends.

Never had a better support experience from any company in the financial space let alone crypto. While I am a new customer I was able to try out their email support and live chat both were quick, and provided just the answers I was looking for. I wish all exchanges had live support, it just works!

I need to write about my support experience with Kraken, it is the best service in the industry so far! I mean who wants to wait for an answer when you have a large leveraged position on the line! I was able to connect with a knowledgeable agent immediately, and they were able to walk me through the issue right then, without delay! Kraken is the 5th exchange have tried, although they have recently updated their KYC requirements, I still feel safer on this exchange than on any other. Keep up the good work
Good Exchange site for Canadian citizen who want to withdraw in their bank account in CAD fiat. Low fees for trading and bank transfer. Trading prices reflex the market.

Some Interfaces are not user friendly at first, however I do not have any issues anymore after getting used to it.
Kraken is no longer recommended.
After a proven and even confirmed by the support internal system error, all positions were liquidated and blocked for "security reasons" continue, so I could not create any new. The whole thing has led to real capital loss.
Initially, I was fed standard answers until I could prove that a regular liquidation was not possible (proof by invoice and log entries).
Only then did you continue to search and find the mistake. A faulty transfer to my account, which never landed as a credit on my account, was probably deducted in the remittance and triggered the liquidation!
But one was only willing to "credit" me (not even the full amount) as future trading costs.
Restoring or compensating for the previous condition is not possible.

Kraken ist nicht mehr zu empfehlen.
Nach einem nachgewiesenen und sogar durch den Support bestätigten internen Systemfehler, wurden alle Positionen liquidiert und aus „Sicherheitsgründen“ weiterhin gesperrt, ich konnte also auch keine neuen anlegen. Das Ganze hat zu realem Kapitalverlust geführt.
Anfänglich speiste man mich mit Standardantworten ab bis ich nachweisen konnte, dass eine reguläre Liquidiereung nicht möglich war (Nachweis durch Rechnung und Logeinträge).
Erst dann forschte man weiter und fand den Fehler. Eine fehlerhafte Überweisung zu meinem Konto, welche nie als Guthaben auf meinem Account gelandet ist, wurde bei der Rücküberweisung vermutlich abgezogen und löste die Liquidierung aus!!!
Man war aber lediglich bereit mir (nicht mal den vollen Betrag) als zukünftige Tradingkosten „gutzuschreiben“.
Den vorherigen Zustand wiederherzustellen oder zu entschädigen sei nicht möglich.
